Slow Textiles

For anyone who managed to see the exhibition 'Craft & the Slow Revolution', lucky you! Unfortunately I missed it and am now waiting for it to tour to somewhere not too far away.

In the meantime I came across a really good article about Slow Textiles on the website of HAND/EYE magazine. The article titled 'Slow Cloth' is written by Elaine Lipson, author of the Red Thread Studio blog. In it she sets out a manifesto of slow textiles with themes such as sustainability, community, skill, beauty and quality. This is an area I am really interested in and is definitely worth reading.

Here is a picture of one of my eco prints, which seems to embody the slow ethos.
